Helloooooo!? I have news!

For those of you who have stuck around/forgotten to bother unfollowing me (!) thanks! I have been very busy enjoying my jollies thanks to the wonderful teaching profession and have toured America and gotten engaged all in the last few months!

So as you can imagine, I have not been blogging but living (deep talk bro) but I am really keen to get more bloggy again. I do enjoy it and I love looking back on it my another form of a diary and if other people enjoy reading it then that's just a bonus!

Stay tuned and I shall catch you up

Emoji kisses,

Small, happy and currently...

Helloooooo? Anyone still there?! Ever so sorry for the absence, teachers out there, you'll get me!

Here's what is currently floating my boat/a general life catch up!

Watching: Love Island- a friend got me addicted but I have no shame! I love watching couples because as a psychology graduate I find people fascinating! It's like a sexy social experiment.

Craving: time off!

Booking: lots of different flights, hostels etc for our big America trip coming up this summer!!

Buying: too many books, no change there.

Counting down to: pay day! See above.

Loving: Alpro's cashew milk, what they can do to nuts is neverending ha!

Binging: new Orange is the new black episodes, wasn't too keen on the other season but loving this one!

Remembering: my friend's wonderful wedding last month, the photos still make me smile!

Feeling: sad about the referendum, as the child of an immigrant I feel let down by some people's attitudes. Had to mention it!

So that's a little window into my crazy life recently, how are you all?!

Small and Happy's Disney princess tag

So I thought it was high time for another tag! I saw this floating around a few blogs and knew I had to do it for myself :)

1) Which Princess do you like the least?
Probably Merida, only because I haven't seen Brave (bad I know!)

2) Which Princess do you adore most?
Jasmine all the way! That hair, those clothes, the sass, I could go on!

3) Which Princess do you relate too most?
Belle. I'm stubborn, a brunette, outspoken and I love reading!

4) Which sidekick do you wish you had?
Raja, because IT'S A TIGER.

5) Which best friend(s) would you like to hang out with?
Olaf and Lumiere, they're both fun and quirky.

6) Which Prince would love you?
Aladdin, or Eric or Flynn! I'm not picky, Disney makes them well!

7) Which parents would raise you?
The three fairies from Sleeping Beauty!

8) Which Castle do you want to live in?
Any, a castle is a castle and I want one please.

9) Which dress do you wish to own?
Belle's, it is just perfection. I also love Cinderella's (what a classic)

10) Which voice do you wish you had?
Jasmine's, it's sultry and exotic and womanly.

11) Which two Princesses would be best friends?
I think Mulan and Rapunzel would be pretty fun together!

12) Which two Princesses do you think would hate one another?
I think maybe Pocahontas and the Frozen girls, I can't see them having anything in common!

13) Which two sidekicks would make a good duo?
Pascal and Olaf could have some funny exchanges and jokes I can imagine.

14) Which two Princes would be best buds?
Oh I love the idea of a world where Aladdin and Flynn are friends!

15) Which scene makes you cry?
When Ariel says bye to her father when she's getting married or when John Smth sails off in Pocahontas. Every. Damn. Time.

16) What scene makes you cheer?
When Rapunzel stands up to her mother!

17) Which movie is your favourite soundtrack?
The Little Mermaid!! Love eye emoji.

18) Which scene makes you cringe the most?
None that I can think of, you can't cringe when it's Disney!

19) Which story do you wish was your life?
I wouldn’t mind being a mermaid. Read-I'd love it!

20) Which movie do you love the most?
Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast are the shit for me, love them all with a passion. Big shout out to Pocahontas too!

Have you done any Disney tags that I should have a look at? I'm obsessed with them!

Small and Happy's Valentine's snapshots!

So this Valentine's weekend we popped on down to London to see some family and just do a little shopping and what not.

It's always nice to go but always nice to leave and get back to the normal prices of the north!

We don't usually make a big deal of Valentine's in terms of gifts (as in any!) however since we had four years of long distance we are used to using Valentine's to make sometime together and do something special! So even now we see each other all the time every day we still like to take the chance to do something a little different and solely about the two of us!

Anyway, here's a few snapshots of our short time there :)

Some beautiful tulips in a lovely corner shop. My only flowers of the weekend ha!

Got to pop and see good old Billy Shakespeare while you're in town. Made me want to watch Shakespeare in Love as always!

No trip is ever complete without a visit to the Disney store, especially when they have the country specific toys. These regal Minnies were too cute!

Isn't this to die for? It was all illustrated inside, my powers of willpower were strongly tested here!

I did pick up an adorable souvenir in the form of this Moomins magnet, so cute!

I love these untranslatable words from other countries so I was thrilled to see that they have a book version, an excellent coffee table addition...if I was the kind of person that had coffee table books. One day!

And here we all are, me, my boyfriend, his sister and her boyfriend, the next generation!

Oh and don't forget me! Okay then, I also made anther friend in the form of this adorable bunny in the Disney shop from the upcoming Zootopia! Very excited for this, if you haven't heard of it. Watch the trailer!

How was everyone else's Valentine's/Galentines day?!

Small and ten happy things!

So to celebrate some happy things recently I thought I would post a photo of one of my happiest times ever-me in New York in 2013. I can't wait to go back this year!! Here's a round of more recent things that have made me smile :)

1. THE FACT THAT GILMORE GIRLS IS COMING BACK. This will probably be in my happy things until we get a release and then it will change to a countdown!

2. A lovely afternoon in Knutsford. While boyfriend traded at the market I took shelter in a nearby cafe. Glamour, Cosmo, free wifi and a vanilla chai, could there be anything better?!

3. Making a Murderer. This has totally gripped me and I cannot wait until we finish it and I read all the theories and analysis online. I am being so good and avoiding everything!

4. A cheeky booked trip down to London. Next week it's half term and we're off to our lovely capital and I can't wait for a little break and to go to Whole Foods, Kikki K, Covent Garden and all the other places I love that we don't have up here in the good old North!

5. Delicious cooking. We always make such good food (if I do say so myself and its great to have someone to share all my cookbooks excitement with!)

6. The fact that it's getting lighter. This is just the best.

7. Amy Poehler's Yes, Please. It's immense. She is immense. It's all just good where Amy's concerned.

8. Booking to see Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat in March. This is one my favourite musicals and I am so happy to be seeing it, especially with one of my friends who has NEVER seen it!

9. So many lovely phone calls with friends. I have really made such an effort to schedule time in to catch up with all my friend and it is so nice to have these chats in the evening and just to see what's going on. It's hard to make time as we get older but it's so so worth it.

10. An ASOS haul. Don't look at me, I don't know what happened.

What's made you happy recently? Do you ever do lists like this?

Happy Sunday!

Small, happy and girl crushing.

I haven't done this in ages but it's easily time for another girl crush post. This time it's the lovely, beautiful Jenna Dewan-Tatum. I would not let Channing Tatum go for anyone less worthy!

In case you needed anymore convincing check her out at this year's Golden Globrs! She looks like the sparkly night sky (heart eyes emoji)

Singing off now, but first, please tell me: who are your girl crushes?!

Happy Wednesday!

Small, happy and currently...

Well hello there one and all, it's the weekend! I have basically given myself today off and I am currently on my second movie of the day (Crazy, Stupid love featuring the gift from heaven that is Ryan Gosling) and it made me want to write another 'currently' post because I love them and love reading other people's so if you do these please share yours!

Booking: flights to New York! We found the most incredible deal on sta travel last night (£364 RETURN!) and decided to get our summer American adventure started! We aren't quite sure of our route yet but we're hoping to tick off some new places and that I can revisit the happiest place on earth while I'm at it!!

Reading: Mindy Kaling's Why not me? I just love her writing style and she really makes me laugh out loud. I just hear her voice as I'm reading and her second collection of essays is just as good as the first!

Cooking: Everything with a spiralizer, still obsessed!

Watching: Parks and Rec! Now the boyfriend is loving it too, it's so nice to share the fun with someone.

Planning: lots of catch ups with people, this is one resolution that's going pretty wel! :)

Feeling: this cold snap! Either snow enough so that we get a snow day or don't snow at all, simple really Mother Nature.

Hoping: that Leo finally gets his Oscar! I haven't seen The Revenant yet but I think he deserves it purely for contribution to cinema! (Yes, I realise that sadly it does not work like this)

Feeling: like time is already flying by, this just seems to be the theme of my mid 20s so I might as well just enjoy it!

How are you all doing? Anything you're watching or reading that you want to share?

Happy Sunday!

Small and Happy's New Year Goals (let's do this!)

Hello there! Happy new year and all that jazz! I am slightly late to the blogging new year's party and no that is not because I have been nursing the world's biggest hangover. In actual fact my NYE was spent reading with my boyfriend, watching big fat quiz and desperately trying to stay up!  This picture therefore is from early Christmas morning when I was full of excited Christmas beans!

But don't be thinking that my lack of energy on new year's pertains to how I feel about 2016, no way Jose! I am extremely excited for what this new year will bring.  Mostly because I see it as a time to make to do lists, goals, resolutions and all those good things.  I am lucky because I am quite a goal oriented, driven person anyway so I love to make goals and usually I achieve them. Now I'm not showing off when I say that (I'm really not!) I literally feel that I mostly achieve goals because I follow the SMART template.  Not heard of this?  Well, carry on really my lovelies (it blew my mind!)

If you've made 2016 goals (resolutions, dreams whatever you like to call them) ask yourself, are they?

Specific (one gym class a week)
Measurable (run 5 miles - I don't know if that's achievable/too easy I am the Jon Snow of running!)
Achievable (get Kim Kardashian's butt with no work (cough or surgery) not so much)
Results focused (eat better, not so clear, have a portion of veg in each meal, easier to see results!)
Time bound (write four poems too vague, write four poems by the end of June gives you something to work towards)

A lot of people have heard these before but I thought I'd share them in case you're needing a bit of guidance making goals for yourself that you feel you can stick to!

So, as I'm sure you're all desperate to know here are some of my goals for this 2016!

* Visit one new country.
* Read 15 books by the end of the year.
*Volunteer for at least one organisation.
*Do an online course in either literature or psychology.
*Go to the cinema or theatre once a month.
*Cook one new recipe a month.
*Two exercise related activities a month.
*Call/facetime/text a friend every week.

Now I feel good about all of these because I don't think anything of them are unattainable, if anything I will do better in some which will make me feel great!  I'm not saying set the bar low but I've set the bar at the minimum I would be happy with in each category and that's what I'll push myself towards.  Anything extra is a mega bonus!

The most important thing with goals is always YOU ARE AMAZING AS YOU ARE.  Any extra tweaks you want to make or extra things you want to do just add to the wonderful person you already are.  That's how I see the new year, a time to reflect on all the awesome stuff I already do and think about how I could improve on my fantabulous self.  Love yourself and don't berate yourself for not always hitting those goals.  Life is a marathon not a sprint and we can grow all the time no matter what time of year it is :)

Do you use the SMART method when you make goals?  Do you have any resolutions?  Please share!

Happy Sunday,

Sophia
